Industrial Heartland Trail Coalition system – The Parkersburg to Pittsburgh (P2P) Corridor is one of eight corridors that comprise the Industrial Heartland Trail Coalition system. This system, when complete, will consist of more than 1,500 miles of trail through 51 counties in four states. It will be one of the largest trail systems in the world. It is currently approximately 52% complete.
Central WV Trail Corridor Vision — WV TRAIL (The West Virginia Trails and Recreation Advocacy and Information Link), a statewide organization focused on non-motorized trail policy, advocacy, funding, information and promotion, is developing a long-term plan for a trail system in central WV. At this time, it is an aspiration, but sections of it are definitely possible in the coming years.

County Trail Map – The Harrison County Commission, along with Harrison Recreational Trails, the Clarksburg CVB, and the Bridgeport CVB, has hired The Thrasher Group to develop a comprehensive map of Harrison County’s non-motorized trails and trail systems. This interactive electronic map is expected to be available later in 2025.
The Lewis County Trail Vision — Lewis County, directly to the south of Harrison County, has a team of community leaders and trail advocates working to develop a trail system in their county that will connect with the Harrison South Rail-Trail, and run through Jackson’s Mill State 4-H Camp, Weston, Stonewall Resort, and eventually connect to the Elk River Trail.
